Shelton Elementary Heritage & Cultural Fair

Creating a Sense of Community & Belonging
“It’s our similarities that bring us together, but it’s our differences that help us grow”
This event is to celebrate Shelton families’ heritage. This year, we are celebrating the five elements of culture: food, clothing, music and dance, toys, and traditions and celebration. You can host a station and/or participate and celebrate others’ heritage.  We want all to join and explore the many cultures at Shelton at this special event. Shelton PTSA will provide $50 to support you sharing with our community.

October 23, 2025 from 5:30-7:00 pm (setup starts at 4:30pm)
Where: Shelton Elementary School
Who: Any Shelton family that would like to share their family’s heritage and culture
What: Families set up a “Heritage Station” at a table to share a unique part of your family’s story.
Here are a few examples for a Heritage Station:
  • Perform a dance or play an instrument
  • Do arts & crafts or share a toy
  • Give out small items (little flags, recipes, erasers…)
  • Offer food samples and/or hand out recipes
  • Show a short video
  • Present books and pictures
  • Display fun and interesting facts
  • Share tradition or celebration from your heritage
  • Display traditional clothing from your heritage
Let us know if you are interested in hosting a “Heritage Station” or sharing in another way by completing this form

Let us know if you are interested in being on this parent and staff committee to plan this event by emailing [email protected].

Whether you are hosting a Heritage Station or want to stop by and explore the many cultures at Shelton, we hope to see ALL of our Shelton students and their families at this special event!
