Committees at Shelton
Volunteering on a committee is a great way to get involved with the school and PTSA outside of serving on a board role. Please also visit our fundraising and school events pages for more opportunities to get involved. If you are interested in learning more about any of these groups, please email us.
School Accountability (SAC) Liaison: Learn more HERE. We also rely on a PTSA parent volunteer to keep the PTSA informed of key state and local legislative issues.
Teacher Appreciation Committee: Manage the teacher wish list on Amazon, coordinate meals for conferences, staff room treats and gifts for teachers throughout the year. Contact the PTSA to lead this committee -- lots of parents are always willing to contribute!
Playground Committee: The playground committee is just getting off the ground and working to develop a plan, submit grants and fundraise to replace our aging and non-ADA compliant play equipment at Shelton, and is working on feasibility for a pump track! Contact Ashlyn to learn more.
Health and Wellness Committee: The Health & Wellness members are committed to improving and implementing best practices in the school. They help with the new 100 mile club and field day with PE, walk to school day in the fall and bike to school day in the spring. Contact Ashlyn to learn more or check out the flyer below.
Garden Committee: Shelton has a wonderful community garden, with plots available to rent by families and neighbors. Grades each have a plot and a garden club is an after-school enrichment activity for students. Contact the garden committee HERE to get involved.
Yearbook: Help create a keepsake of your child's years at Shelton. Get involved by emailing us.
Family Engagement: Volunteers in this role help support our Family Engagement Liaison to help Shelton families with basic needs. Contact us HERE to learn more.
We also need volunteers for the following school events. Please click on the links to learn more or get involved by emailing us.
