In case you missed it, the Coyote 5K Classic was a huge success. A big fat shout out to the awesome 5K committee and all of the volunteers, runners, students and community members who participated!
Our new mascot, the Shelton Coyote, made his DEBUT at the 5K last weekend. We look forward to seeing our Coyote at many Shelton events in the future. A special thanks to Mike Mischel for donning the suit!
Students will have a chance to NAME OUR NEW MASCOT - there will be a box in the library where they can submit their entries.

Math & Science Night is coming up - Wed, 11/2!
Be prepared to be amazed at what you’ll see and learn at this innovative, hands-on event. With support from dozens of community volunteers, including the CO School of Mines, watch our students embark on a journey throughout the school to see, touch, taste, smell and hear all kinds of things math & science! Math & Science Night serves to inspire our students to become scientists & engineers and participate in the Science & Engineering Fair in January. SCIENCE &ENGINEERING FAIR - 1/26/17
Although the Science & Engineering Fair is a few months away, the S&EF committee is busy planning some new elements for this year's fair.
Back again will be our 4-5 week, before-school S&EF preparation class for 4th - 6th graders & a class for K-3rd graders. Look for a sign-up sheet in your Friday folders this week. We need your help! We’d like to solicit parent leaders to take on planning work, especially in the following categories (with a planning meeting early in November).

Have you noticed the large poles installed near the kindergarten pick up area? This is the first step in building our School/Community Garden - constructing an 8' high "elk-proof" fence. The fence should be completed by mid-October.

Thank you to everyone who helped out with WALK TO SCHOOL DAY last Wednesday.
Everyone had a great time celebrating Walk to School Day last Wednesday. Our Health Heroes were on hand to distribute fresh fruit, bookmarks, and pedometers to all the students.
