GSF 6th annual teacher recognition awardsGolden Schools Foundation (GSF) is holding the 6th annual Golden Teacher Recognition Awards to reward and encourage excellence in teaching at our eight local neighborhood schools. Two winning teachers will be awarded $1,000 each to be spent in their classroom, a crystal apple, and recognition at their school. They will also be acknowledged in local press/newspapers and among the Golden community. Winning teachers will also be featured on the GSF website showcase of winners. Shelton is proud that three of its outstanding teachers have received the award in the past: Cheryl O'Haire (2012), Joe Johnson (2015) and Laurie Wingert (2016). Please note that previous winners cannot be nominated again. To nominate one of our outstanding Shelton teachers, please fill out and return the nomination form by 4/11. Forms were sent via e-mail by Mrs. Brown on 3/14 and will be placed in Friday folders on 3/24. Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) will be on hand with a crew of volunteers and a shift leader who will assign tasks. We'll be spreading crusher fine for pathways and edging ground-level plots with cedar. Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty, and garden gloves if you have them. DUG will provide all tools and supplies. Students are welcome!
