Colorado Gives Day
Colorado Gives Day is December 7th, 2021 and is an opportunity to give where you live! Shelton Elementary is participating in Colorado Gives as a way to raise money for special projects and needs at Shelton that are outside of the PTSA budget. - Shelton Elementary Community - Donations towards this fundraiser will help support the effort to increase the Family Engagement Liaison support from 5 hours per day to 6 hours per day for the 2021/22 school year. This staff helps support student physical and emotional wellness by ensuring that the students and their families have the tools needed to thrive.
- UPDATE: Through your generous donations on CO Gives Day, $1,944 was raised to help increase hours for our Family Engagement Liaison this spring. There is still time to give to this fundraiser. If its fully funded our Family Engagement Liaison will be able to work an additional day each week this spring. We are hoping to raise an additional $3,000.
- Water Filling Stations -The Shelton Health & Wellness Committee would like to install two water filling stations in the school. Shelton kids bring their own water bottle to school, which is already a great step in eliminating plastic and landfill waste. Water filling stations also encourage young kids to form healthy habits and reduce their intake of unnecessary sugar. Safe, clean, and accessible water gives students greater incentive to hydrate more often, contributing to greater energy and productivity.
- UPDATE: Shelton Health and Wellness will be installing at least 1 Water Bottle Filling Station this spring. This has been made possible by:
- $700 grant from Jeffco Healthy Schools,
- $2,000 grant from Jeffco Public Health on behalf of their Healthy Beverage Coalition
- $1,000 raised through CO Gives Day through your generous donations, and
- $300 from the Shelton Health and Wellness Committee.
