So what is the silent auction & night out?


It's an opportunity to mingle with fellow Shelton friends and community members, enjoy food and drinks and bid on ​fantastic silent auction items. 

​Book your babysitter, because this is a kid-free night for you to relax and have fun!

You'll have opportunities to bid online ahead of time, but there will be many
​auction and lucky pull items for attendees only. 

This event is a fundraiser for Shelton PTSA to fund STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)
​programs and other needs. 

This event is open to all adults -

What is A Night at the Museum / Silent Auction?
This is the second year PTSA is hosting a silent auction separate from the Coyote 5K Classic. This is an exciting evening to enjoy heavy appetizers, beer and wine, and bid on amazing silent auction items! The event is primarily a fundraiser, but also a great opportunity for parents, staff and community members to have a fun evening out, enjoy each other's company - and help Shelton.

Who should come?
Everyone! Parents, staff, extended family members, neighbors, colleagues, and friends. You don't have to have a child at Shelton to attend or participate in the online bidding.


What is included in the ticket price?

You'll have an option to pay by check so watch your Friday folder for a ticket order form. You can also purchase tickets during February 14, 15 & 16th Parent-Teacher conferences. Look for our table by the office. If you have questions about the event we would be happy to answer them.


Will you accept credit cards for admission and auction items or do I need cash?
Yes, you can purchase admission with a credit card, PayPal, or check. Auction items can be purchased via credit or debit card only. Bring some cash or checks to purchase raffle tickets at the event!


Can I see a list of silent auction items?
Yes, a list will be posted soon.


I can't come to the event, what else can I do to help?
You can make monetary donations or donate something to the auction (bottle of wine, vacation home weekend, sports tickets, restaurant gift card, etc.). Email us at sheltonsilentauction@gmail.com. You will also have an opportunity to bid online for the majority of items.


What is the goal for this event?
The goal is to raise as much as we can to help this year’s PTSA purchase technology for our kids and support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) and other programs at the school. The more the better!


How will this event raise money?
Generous individuals and businesses have donated items to be auctioned off. When you bid on and win items, the money goes directly to PTSA. During the event there will be an auction as well as an appeal to make a direct donation. Direct donations of all levels make a difference and are 100% tax-deductible.  


How will the funds be used?
All proceeds will go to Shelton’s PTSA, which benefits approximately 450 children by funding important technology upgrades, educational endeavors, and school events.


What is the event program?
6:00pm – arrive and check in / 6:30 cocktail reception and silent auction start /8:00 pm – silent auction closes


Where is the event? Where do I park? 
The event will be hosted at Fossil Trace Golf Club; 3050 Illinois St Golden, CO 80401. Parking is FREE and there is plenty in the parking lot in front of the clubhouse.


Any alternative transportation options? Join your neighbors or friends and carpool together. There will be alcohol at this event, please be responsible and plan accordingly. 


Will tickets be sold at the door?
Space is limited and Fossil Trace requires a headcount in advance, so admission should be purchased in advance.

What is the attire for the event?
Fossil Trace's dress code is business casual but feel free to break out your evening attire!


Can kids attend this event?
Not this event - this is an adult-only evening to have fun while supporting our students.


What if I can’t find a babysitter?
See if you can join up and share a sitter with a neighbor for a few hours. Still no luck, have one person in your family attend - there will be plenty of people you know!


I can’t attend the event; can I still bid on items?
Yes! Online bidding will be available for everyone, but there will be some special items for attendees only. Online bidding begins several days before the event, so stay tuned.

If I win an auction item but I couldn't attend the event, how will I get my item?
We will schedule a pick up day at Shelton for sold items, or make other arrangements TBD.


Can my relatives who live elsewhere bid online?
Yes! However, you would be responsible for sending any purchased items to your relatives.

Are there any volunteer needs?
Yes, volunteers are needed to help the day of the event with set up, registration, donation processing and clean up.  Stay tuned!
