Use this information to help you navigate your PTSA involvement.
Do you want to be an involved parent, but feel like you don’t have the time? Or you aren’t sure where to start? We’ve created this guide to help all parents find the right ways to participate and enhance their Shelton Experience.
How can I stay up to date?
- Join our monthly member meeting. This is where you can vote on the budget, share your input, learn about school updates and volunteer opportunities. All meetings will be posted to the calendar.
- The Konstella app is our most important resource. We host all our donations, the after school enrichment sign-ups and calendar of events here. We also blast all of our communications through this app.
- We work to keep our website http://www.sheltonptsa.org/ equally as up to date. Please check here for updates.
- Did you know that you can sync the Shelton PTSA calendar to your google or iCal calendar? Find directions to sync the Event calendar here: https://www.konstella.com/app/settings/calendar

What are the most important fundraisers?
- Direct Give Campaign in the Fall – We get most of the PTSA annual budget from this kick-off fundraiser event in the month of September. Mark your calendars, and your budgets.
- Coyote Chase in the Spring – This is a fun event where the kids are encouraged to get some exercise while earning the money for a specific need for the school. For example, in Spring 2024 the goal was to raise money to upgrade the lower playground.
- Dine-Out events! – This is a fun way to skip making dinner & support your school. To double the fun, use this as a chance to meet up with your child’s classmates’ families! Watch for announcements about our dine-out events throughout the school year.
What are the biggest events to attend?
The answer to this question is personal. It depends on what events are most important to you and your family values. For example, if celebrating yours and others’ cultures is a priority for you, then the Heritage Night is for you. If Science Technology, Engineering and Math are a priority for you, then you want to get ahead of the STEM Fair and help your child prepare their project. Stay up to date on all events this year through the calendar on Konstella. However, to help we’ve categorized them by which ones have your student showcasing their work, vs. family enrichment and community building.
