Shelton Read-a-Thon Ends This Friday! Log your out-of-school daily reading minutes on each week’s Reading Log, which come home in your Friday Folders. Each week's log will be printed on a different color to help you keep track. Week 1 (Feb. 3rd-8th) was blue. Week 2 (Feb. 9th-14th) is green. Week 3 (Feb. 15th-22nd) is pink. Week 4 is yellow. Prizes Reading logs can be turned in anytime until March 8th for a small prize. Students that turn in all 4 Weekly Reading Logs will earn an extra prize. All students that participate will earn raffle tickets for a chance to win even more prizes, such lunch with Principal Zweifel, lunch with Dr. Walter, or signed copies of award winning books from Kaz Windness, the author that visited Shelton on February 7th. The student in each grade that reads the most will be awarded a special prize. The classroom that reads the most will earn a movie and popcorn party! Need a Book(s)? Panorama Family Survey Panorama Education will be conducting our annual family survey to provide us with benchmarking against national norms. Donations run through March 8th. Single serve cereal can be dropped off at the donation box located in front of the school. Need for Guest Teachers at Shelton! Are you a parent who wants to give back to Shelton? Or perhaps you know someone who wants to work in a flexible, on-call environment? Consider applying to be a Guest Teacher for Jeffco Public Schools! A high school degree and a clean background check is all that is required. Plus, for a limited time, Shelton PTSA is reimbursing all associated fees! Students love seeing familiar faces as their guest teachers. It's a rewarding way to be involved in your school. From kindergarten through fifth grade, kids can read 500 books of their choice to get comfortable with independent reading. Track progress and earn prizes throughout!
