Science & engineering fair News
Kickoff Assembly: Dec. 2 during school hours
We’ve invited some UC Denver and School of Mines students to help our Shelton kids understand a little more about preparing for S&EF in a fun “skit” format assembly.
S&EF registration: dec. 2 - Dec. 16
Registration will be online on our new S&EF website! The registration link will become active on Dec. 2nd.
The site is filled with lots of great information for parents and kids. We’re hoping that the easy-to-follow format will help guide everyone through the science fair preparation and the event itself. Comments/question can be left on the web site, or emailed to one of us.
We’re still looking for volunteers to lead several categories to support the fair.
Signup genius: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f48a5af29a02-science.
Please consider helping so that our kids can have a rewarding experience, and so our parent-led committees can focus on specific details. Technical expertise is not required to be a volunteer!
Thanks, Rob (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Jenny (email@example.com)

Please click to view a Shelton Playground flier to for more information on why a new playground is important and why Colorado Gives Day helps us make an impact in the fundraising effort.
Please share this great event with your family and friends, even your employer! Some employers will match donations made during this time (as well as other times during the year).
Thank you for allowing us to help serve our kids and our community.
The week before Thanksgiving, all Shelton students were asked what they were grateful for at school or in their home life. Each student wrote their answer on a leaf, which was placed a gratitude tree!
These 3 trees are in the main hallway - stop by sometime and take a look! It will bring a smile to your face.
never too late to eat healthy!
There is still time for your child to track his/her food consumption on the MyPlate Menu Planner throughout the next week.
ALL STUDENTS who return their completed MyPlate menu planner to Mrs. Knickerbocker on Dec. 5 will receive a prize!!! The MyPlate parent handout, which was included in the 11/18 Friday folders, also offers some fun and easy tips for building healthier family meals that include the five food groups.
health heroes meet broncos!
A team of 8 Shelton Health Heroes recently attended the "Fuel Greatness" celebration at Mile High stadium. The annual event rewards schools whose wellness teams have achieved "touchdown status" through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.
Our lucky heroes got to meet Broncos cheerleaders, players, coaches and were treated to a "behind the scenes" tour of the stadium. Way to go, health heroes!
