PTSA GENERAL MEETING
The PTSA General Meeting is January 16 at 6:30PM in the Library. Agenda items include budget review, feedback on Winter Parties, 5K Classic, and an Open Discussion time. Please come participate, be part of your school's PTSA and make your voice heard. All are welcome (members and non-members), and feel free to bring your kids as well.
Science and Engineering Fair
Thursday, January 25, 2018 is the Science and Engineering Fair! There are several parts to this great event:
-Participants should bring their completed Display Poster to Shelton from 5 to 7pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 and set it up in the gym or library.
-On Thursday, the 25th, students will describe their projects to friendly judges during school hours.
-Thursday evening there will be a Reception and Award Ceremony with food, games, and prizes. All students, families, and friends are welcome to attend even if they are not participating in the fair this year. It's a great school community event! After the reception, students will take their project home.
We need your help! It takes a village to put on this event successfully for the students! We have many jobs ranging from table set-up to camera crew to project judges to pizza boss. No science background needed. Please click here to view volunteer slots and sign up!
Thank you!!! As always, visit https://sites.google.com/site/scienceandengineeringfair/ or email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Shelton’s Talent show is an opportunity for our kids to get up in front of a live audience, in a safe and encouraging environment, and have their three minutes of fame!
Having the courage to take the stage is a huge achievement in and of itself, so we don’t hold an awards ceremony or rate any of the acts. The main objective is to provide a supportive and nurturing venue for kiddos to express themselves through the performing arts. Last year, acts included:
- Stand Up Comedians
What will your act be?
To take part, just fill in an application form and hand it in to the front office before Tuesday January 23. There is no cost to enter!

King Sooper's Reward Card Update
Thank you to those participating in the Kings Sooper's Reward Card Program. Since September, Shelton is hovering around $1,000-$1,100/month in donations to the school. Shelton is on track to bring in around $14,000 for the year. Our record year was $20,000, so there is much room for improvement in this area with more students than ever attending the school. Please remember to load your King Sooper's card each time you shop at King Soopers/City Market and get gas at Loaf n Jug. If you would like to participate in this free program, please see the front desk or contact me to pick up a card. It's a free way to donate to your child's school. Every dollar makes a difference in helping to provide more resources for our students. Please contact me with questions. Debbie South, email@example.com.

we need you!
Discussions are starting as to whether or not the Silent Auction will take place next year. In order for it to be the success it's been in the past, we need 4 to 5 core committee members. At least one previous committee member will stay on board to help but without new volunteers, we will not be able to have this event again next school year. This is a big event and requires a lot of work but the rewards are worth it. This has been the largest fund raiser for our school since it's inception. The Silent Auction is critical to meeting our schools STEM needs so please consider stepping up and helping out. Click here to e-mail the PTSA for more information.
We still have several other programs that still need volunteers to run them next year. Visit here to learn more. If we don't have volunteers then we will lose these programs so please reach out today! And thank you to those of you who have already stepped up to help! We appreciate all that our volunteers do for our school.
To our amazing committee coordinators, please use the link below to submit your entries for the Coyote Column. E-mailed requests may not be honored.
